Meet Our Staff
The staff at our Northern Trans-A-Matic service and repair center are all highly trained and certified technicians with one common goal in mind - quality service at honest prices. Our transmission center is diligent in applying the ATRA Member Code of Ethics to all of our transmission repair and diagnostic services for the purpose of better assisting our customers with their repair needs and concerns. Adherence to the ATRA Code of Ethics also helps ensure that when you bring in your vehicle for transmission service or repair you know that you are receiving honest and professional service from our technical staff. Our transmission technicians are always polite and courteous in their effort to provide you with the quality of service you want and deserve.
Shane Saugstad
Owner/Technician
Shane has worked for Northern Trans-A-Matic for 28 years and had the opportunity to buy the company in 2011. He attended CNC in 1999 and achieved his red seal as Automatic Transmission Service Technician in January of 2000. Shane continues to upgrade his skills in electrical and diagnostics as well as attending ATRA technical seminars and webinars to keep up to high standards of the transmission industry. Shane is a member of ATRA- Automatic Transmission Rebuilder's Association, a member of Hi-tek training group and is also a part of the Northern Sub committee at College of New Caledonia. When Shane isn't in the shop he enjoys the outdoors like hunting and camping as well as spending time with his family.
Phyllis Saugstad
Service Advisor/Owner
One of the owner's of Northern Trans-A-Matic, she will be the first person you see walking into it's doors. She has been a full time service advisor for the past four years.
She enjoys long hikes, camping, gym, and spending time with her family.
Shawn Brunn
Transmission Technician/ Rebuilder
Shawn has been with the company since February 2015 and has over 28 years experience. He specializes in import and domestic transmissions and transfer cases. He received his red seal at the College of New Caledonia and continues updating his skills with online training and seminars. Shawn enjoys camping, as well as playing baseball and hockey.
